Hint 1. Where to look
Gold and red door you passed earlier. The inset comes from the bottom of the ladder after the side fight.
Hint 2. What to understand
Turning an inner ring also turns the rings outside it. Set the relative pattern from the inside outward, then rotate the whole stack to the outer mark.
Hint 3. Reported solution
Insert the peephole. Turn every ring except the innermost while working outward, because each ring carries the ones outside it. When the diamonds agree with each other, turn them together until they meet the outer edge.
